Wow ... the network war is really on.  And the battle for noontime supremacy and  the ratings game between It's Showtime and Eat Bulaga is raging,.. . the shows thermometer registered BOILING POINT!

Eat Bulaga for decades used to lord the timeslot ... not anymore! The noontime TV landscape has changed thanks to the "unkabogable" think tank of It's Showtime who engineered segments like Pinoy Halohalo, Kalookalike Face 2 and Kalokalike: Level Up .... and things were never the same.

Gone are the days when they were languishing only in the sideline and the segments like Jambunganga, Tandang Pananong, Makina Matibay, Havey o Waley, Arte Mo, Its Call Time .... fall flat on their face even avid and loyal supporters asked ... "Pinagisipan ba nila ang mga segment na yan? It is not working ....!   How I wish they could put Sine Mo To  to rest also .... para malubos lubos na ang pagbabago."

And fresh from Kalokalike successes, the brains behind It's Showtime came up with another winners in That's My Tomboy, Stars of 45 and  I am Pogay. This put the show in the leaderboard that made  Eat Bulaga to regroup and rethink their strategies to counter Showtime's "never-say-die" challenge.

They come up with "Thats My Tambay" a show for the unemployed and displaced workers, giving them the chance to earn while waiting for the "elusive" work ... and here's the latest offering which is very promising and also interesting : "You're My Foreignoy" ..... a show for foreigners living in the Philippines.   Here, the foreigners show their love for Philippines and its culture, all of them tried to speak Tagalog, they sing Tagalog songs, dance Tinikling and Maglalatik  and wore  Barong Tagalog like it is their own. They were made to read a few tongue twisters and as they groped, stumbled and fell  ... voila Eat Bulaga has another ace in their sleeves. And judging from the viewer's response and giggles ... it looked like Eat Bulaga has another winner here.

My take on this?   I think the network war and the (?) friendly competetion between the two shows is a welcome development in the industry.  .If everybody tried their best ... to come out with shows that is worth our while, our time and money then lets give ABS CBN and GMA the biggest applause.  But the eventual winner in this development are the TV viewers. It would be fun to see them battle for the remote control  as they switch channels every step of the way.
